Nagcarlan, Laguna Trip

LAKARAN SA NAGCARLAN!




LOCATION:
Nagcarlan is a second class municipality of Laguna. It is 16 kilometers northeast of San Pablo City.

HOW TO GET THERE?
Via Sta. Cruz, Laguna:
Take a bus at Buendia or Cubao going to Sta. Cruz, get off at the Sta.Cruz bus station, and wait for jeepneys going to Nagcarlan.

Via San Pablo City:
Take a bus going to Lucena and get off at San Pablo junction. Ride a jeepney/tricycle to the jeepney terminal going to Nagcarlan. Just tell the driver to drop you off in front of Underground Cemetery. From there, you can walk going to the Nagcarlan Church and Presidencia.. It's a LAKARAN IN NAGCARLAN...

Fare:
Bus = 130
Jeepney going to terminal = 8
Jeepney going to Nagcarlan = 25

Travel Time:
1-2 hours without traffic

Important Info's
  • The site is open Tuesdays-Sundays; 8 am - 5 pm.
  • Entrance is free of charge but donations are welcome for the maintenance.
  • No flash photography inside the crypt.
Historical Facts:
  • It was constructed in 1845.
  • It was declared as a national historical site in August 1973.
  • There is a legend that there is a tunnel connecting the Underground Cemetery to the St. Bartholomew Church and which also leads to Mt. Banahaw, but no one could be certain.
  • This place becomes the seek shelter in Filipino-American war and a safehouse for guerillan in World War II.

Historical Facts:
  • It was constructed in 1583 from light materials.
  • A second church made of stone and bricks was built in 1752.
  • Other construction was built in 1845.
  • It's feast day is celebrated every August 24

(I didn't have a chance to explore Bunga Twin Falls due to lack of time, I spend 1 day only in Nagcarlan, San Pablo & Liliw)

  • No stores accepts credit cards and cheque, bring cash.
  • You can camp at Bunga Twin Falls and bring your own tent.

  • Nagcarlan is divided into 52 barangays.

Liliw, Laguna Trip

NAKAKAALIW SA LILIW!
Liliw: The Footwear Capital 





LOCATION:
Liliw has a total land area of 3,910 hectares (9,700 acres). It is bounded on the northwest by Sta. Cruz; northeast by Magdalena; on the east by Majayjay; on the west by Nagcarlan; and on the south by Dolores, Quezon. It is best known for its cold water spring resorts, native homemade sweets and a sizeable shoe industry that rivals that of Marikina City.

HOW TO GET THERE?
Via Sta. Cruz, Laguna:
Take a bus at Buendia or Cubao going to Sta. Cruz, get off at the Sta.Cruz bus station, and wait for jeepneys going to Liliw.

Via San Pablo City:
Take a bus going to Lucena and get off at San Pablo. Take a jeepney from the town proper. You will be passing the towns of Rizal and Nagcarlan through a national road before reaching Liliw.
